FAVE 5 on 5: June 2013

July 05, 2013  •  4 Comments

On the fifth of every month myself and a group of talented photographers will each post five favorite photos from the previous month. It's a "blog circle" aka virtual gallery hop that will take you around the country inspiring you with different landscapes, people, and moments. At the end of each Fave 5 on 5 there will be a link to the next photographer. Be sure to click on the link and hop over to the next gallery. Enjoy!

157.365.2013 This photo was taken at the Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix, AZ. I was attending a conference and had a free evening. After spending all day in the artic air conditioning, I had to be outside despite the temps being around 100 degrees! The sun was setting fast, but I chased the light with some success. This was taken in the wildflower garden. The best part of the evening was a bit after the sun had set and I watched a family of Quail with tiny chicks find their way to a cactus and jump and scramble into the upper branches to roost for the night.

169.365.2013 I love birthday parties! I've lost family and friends and because of that I think it's important to celebrate people while they are still here. It's even more fun to celebrate kids because they get to soak up all of that love and attention. This is Joon, and she turned 2; I love her nickname, "Joon Bug."

174.365.2013 This one draws me in with the warmth of the reds and oranges and the light on the hair. The only thing better than my daughter's art is the stories she tells about them!

179.365.2013 We traveled to northern California for a wedding at the end of the month for a close friend. His bride put together all of these great details like these banners that were strung between the trees at the wedding site. It just feels like summer.

180.365.2013 All dressed up for the wedding, bow-tie and all. Obviously I'm biased, but my little guy is so handsome! Part of me wishes the pacifier was not in the picture, but that wouldn't have been an accurate portrayal of him that day. It was hot, he was tired, and that pacifier helped keep the peace during the ceremony!
